How To Get Your Wardrobe Summer Ready
Summer wardrobes have a way of sending people into panic mode. Suddenly we’re wearing less, somehow still have “nothing” to wear, and we’re overheating before we’ve even left the house. But if you’re even a little bit prepared, it all feels way easier. So here’s a few tips we’re doing to get our wardrobe sorted for summer. They might seem obvious, but sometimes that’s exactly what you need, a little reset, a bit of motivation, and a few ideas to actually get things done. Ps. One of our top tips: Summer mornings are not the time to be making decisions. It’s already hot, you’re probably in a rush, and figuring out what to wear just ends up in a spiral. Find your outfit the night before.
TACKLE THIS ON A GOOD DAY
Tackling your wardrobe on a bad day is not going to end well. Make sure you’re in the right frame of mind, it’s something you want to do and you have a good amount of time set aside to do it.
RE VIST LAST YEARS PICTURES
If you feel like you “have nothing to wear,” your camera roll says otherwise. Scroll back through last summer and look at what you actually wore and felt good in. Those outfits are your starting point which you had probably forgotten about. So, pull these to the front.
BUILD ON WHAT YOU KNOW YOU LIKE
Now you know what you wore on repeat, use it to your advantage. Instead of trying to reinvent your style, double down on it. If you lived in oversized shirts, lean into that. If it was all neutral outfits or tanks with tailored shorts, make that your base. Repeat the formula and tweak it slightly. It makes getting dressed so much easier because you already know it works.
REMOVE WHAT YOU DON’T LIKE
If there’s items in your wardrobe which you don’t like get rid of them, and if you’re not sure on them then store them away. A crowded wardrobe full of “maybes” makes getting dressed harder than it needs to be.
CREATE A HEATWAVE EDIT
Yes, we live in the UK but when the heat hits, it hits. Have 2-3 go to outfits ready for those really hot days. Light dresses, loose shirts, easy shorts, pieces that don’t cling and don’t require thought. Because as we all probably know, there is nothing worse than an unexpected heatwave with absolutely nothing to wear!
