Recipe: Easy No Alcohol Tiramisu
If you’re hosting friends for New Year’s Eve or family for New Year’s Day, this tiramisu is the ultimate dessert! It’s super easy to make, with just a few simple ingredients, and you can prep it ahead of time. We’ve skipped the alcohol this year and kept it all about the rich coffee flavour and sweet indulgence!
Ingredients - Generously Serves 6
4 Eggs
450g Mascarpone
350g Lady Fingers
240g Granulated Sugar
1 Vanilla Pod
1 Cup Strong Coffee
Cocoa Powder (For Dusting)
Method
1. Brew your coffee and pour it into a shallow dish large enough to dip the ladyfingers. Let it cool.
2. Separate the eggs, placing the yolks in a separate bowl (we’ll use these later). Whisk the egg whites with half the sugar until stiff peaks form.
3. In a separate bowl, whisk the egg yolks with the remaining sugar until light and fluffy.
4. Slice the vanilla pod open and scrape out the seeds. Add the vanilla seeds and mascarpone to the egg yolk mixture and mix until smooth.
5. Gently fold half of the whipped egg whites into the mascarpone mixture using a large metal spoon or spatula to preserve the air. Once combined, fold in the remaining egg whites until fully incorporated.
6. Time to assemble! Quickly dip the ladyfingers into the coffee, making sure to coat both sides without letting them soak too long. Arrange them in the bottom of your dish. Spread half of the mascarpone mixture over the ladyfingers, then repeat the layers until all the mixture is used up. Cover and refrigerate for at least 5 hours—overnight is best if you can wait!
7. Once set, dust the top with cocoa powder and serve!
